Tacoma's Sean Vandommelen project, gathering local attention in the Tacoma music scene, features singer-songwriter Sean Vandommelen. Formed in 2006; they have managed to gather local attention with music which merges a variety of styles. Hailing from Chicago, Sean decided in his early years he disliked school and would rather play music. Influenced by The Beatles, Beck, Sean began writing songs at an early age. Other influences include a fusion of blues, rock and soul. After moving to the Pacific Northwest, Sean began playing guitar in 1991. He has been involved with several bands including Deadly Effect (with Rob Gaul), a speed metal rock band with a strong local following. Sean also worked with Mona Lisa Shines, an Alternative Rock group with a emo-punk edge. Sean is featured on three EP releases with Mona Lisa Shines. Sean is also currently working as a lead guitarist in the Tacoma-based VIII Days Clean, a band with tremendous Northwest support including Oregon and all the way down to Los Angeles. Sean was pivotal in forming All Kinz, who set the stage for the Tacoma hip hop scene. Having been reported as influencing some many of the best local hip hop artists in the Tacoma and Seattle area, they released five EP's in their time together. Having come from a successful venture with All Kinz and VIII Days Clean, Sean is now turning heads with his own unique style of music, blending electronic sounds with his own acoustical creations.
